Porscia Lam writes narrative non-fiction, with an interest in topics relating to mountain sports, autism, special-needs parenting and motherhood in the corporate world. Her writing has appeared in Adventure Mag, Women’s Agenda, Onya Magazine and Muse Paper.

In 2025, Porscia published her memoir, The Unlocking, which was shortlisted for the 2024 Hawkeye Manuscript Development Prize and earned a coveted Kirkus Star in 2025.
Porscia has degrees in commerce and law, and over 18 years’ experience as a banking and finance lawyer. Her professional background brings strong research skills, sharp attention to detail and readability to her writing.
In her personal life, Porscia is an experienced rock-climber and skier, and spent much of her early adulthood deeply immersed in mountain sports and culture around the world. More recently, she became a mother of two, including to an autistic child. In 2025 she was appointed to the Parent Advisory Committee of Autism Awareness Australia. This lived experience has equipped her with a unique combination of skills and perspectives and an ability to connect with a wide-ranging audience. Her writing is inspired by the likes of Jon Krakauer, Chloe Hooper and Paul Kalanithi.
From mid-2026 onwards Porscia is available for freelance non-fiction projects.
